Sabuk Lodge is situated in the northern frontier district, overlooking the Laikipia plateau, the Ewaso Nyiro River and Samburu land.
sabuk located on a private land,set on an edge of a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River.This pristine  destination off the tourist beaten track is the ideal place to spend quality time with the family.

Sabuk Lodge is a stunning African wilderness destination, perched on the high banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Safari Accommodation at Sabuk Lodge
Sabuk Lodge has 6 wonderfully furnished open sided en suite cottages. The Eagle cottage is inimitable family units that consist of 2 bedroom both ensuite large sitting/dining room and a private plunge pool.

The cottages are open with verandah, shower and toilet, each with its own fabulous view. Sabuk was fashioned out of the local landscape, built with local materials, the hillside, and flora, twisted wood and stone boulders incorporated into the architecture. Open walls and private verandahs face out over the river gorge 150 feet below.

  • This hilly area with dense acacia bush is host to a lot of game which varies according to the season: greater kudu, reticulated giraffe, buffalo, impala, elephant, warthog, klipspringer, zebra, eland, dik dik, waterbuck, lion, leopard, good bird watching and incredible scenery.
  • Family holiday safari the ideal family holiday location with shares activities.
  • Sabuk Fly Camp for those with three or more than days. Foot  walking safaris with professional safari guide,camel caravan and trained Maasai warriors through isolated wilderness and enjoy the sounds and sights of African wilderness.

 Safari Activities Experienced at Sabuk Lodge
  • Bush breakfasts or picnics by the river
  • Bush sundowners
  • Guided walking and riding with camels - This can be a half day excursion.
  • Visit to the camel boma guided nature walks - brush up on your bush skills.
  •  Game drives in 4 wheel-drive vehicles
  •  Rock and artifacts hunting
  •  Samburu manyatta visit
  •  River fishing with hand lines - for Barbells, catfish and occasionally tilapia River swimming, tubing the 'rapids' and rock jumping.
  •  Swimming in the swimming pool/s, the bigger one at the deep end is about 6 foot 3 inches (about 2 metres) deep and it is powered by solar.
  •  Horse riding - rides can be arranged with prior notice. This is an extra, and cost is U.S. $40 per person for approximately an hour and a half's ride, and we recommend riding in the morning. Be advise this activity is for competent riders only.
  • Helicopter rides - these can be arranged with prior notice for hour long rides or day safaris, using helicopters based in Nanyuki.
