Meru National Park is found in northeast of Mount Kenya in Meru District of Eastern Province Kenya.The park can be accessed by air or road transport from Nairobi and is 348 km is via Nyeri Nanyuki, Meru or via Embu all weather roads. From Maua Town to Murera Gate is 35km. The other route is via Embu and Ura Gate is 120km, 290km from Nairobi but currently inaccessible.There are two air strip at Kina Mulika next to Meru Mulika Lodge and Elsa’s Kopje airstrip.

There are also special campsites including, Kimpi Barid, Kitanga, Makutano, Rojewuro, Mugung, Ken Mare and Kanjoo also Public campsite at Bwatherogi.
