Kenya is known for an assortment of its various attractions, apart from the richest collection of game parks teeming with diverse wildlife, the incredible white sandy beaches, landscapes endowed with awesome scenery, blossoming green highlands, striking lakes and soaring mountains dominating Kenya's magnificent blue skyline, which make perfect holiday destination.

Indeed Kenya is a land of contrasts, this most evident in its range of altitudes. The hills and mountains of Kenya are a world apart from the lowland valleys and plains. Kenya’s High altitude offers refreshing hill walks through bird rich areas or more vigorous hikes into montane forests.

 

Mount Kenya slopes are ideal for mountain trekking while the alpine peak is challenging meant for the experienced mountaineer. Africa’s second highest peak, Mt Kenya is a majestic monolith regarded as the sacred realm of Ngai, god of the Kikuyu people, and home to one of the world rarest occurrence, Equatorial Snow.

 

The Aberdare Mountain Ranges known by the Maasai as "Oldoinyo la Satima "and by the Kikuyu as "Kirima Kia Nyandarua" is a  about 160 km long mountain range of highlands north of Nairobi the capital of  Kenya and  has  an average height is 11,000 feet (3,350 m). Oldoinyo la Satima which means 'the mountain of the young bull' is 4,001 meters (13,120 feet) is the highest peak in the Aberdare Range while Mount Kenya with (5,199 m, 17,057 ft), is the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro, lies several kilometres east of the Aberdare Range.

 

 Mt Longonot

Mt Longonot is a dormant volcano whose awe-inspiring crater is a haven of wildlife. The sides of the mountain have V-shaped valleys and ridges.

 Menengai Crater

Menengai Crater, Kenyas largest Caldera is an extinct volcano, 8km north of Nakuru. The summit is 2,300 m above sea level; the Rotary Club of Nakuru has erected a signpost that shows various directions and distances to places in the world that including Mt. Kilimanjaro, Cape Town, London, Cairo and Mecca.

 Mt Elgon

Rising from the Western Forests, this mountain is home to mysterious Kitum Cave, a deep cavern visited by herds of Elephants

These lush green hills are a bird watchers and hill walker’s paradise

High and cool, these hills are the perfect escape from the coastal heat, and home to a fascinating range of wildlife

Found in the vast wilderness of Tsavo, are hills that gives have great wildlife and greater views of Kilimanjaro
