Mount Kilimanjaro is found in national park by the same name as the mountain.  Africa’s highest peaks and also the tallest free standing mountain in the world that solitary rises to breathtaking heights from the surrounding coastlands.

While scaling the slopes one experiences a virtual climatic world tour from the tropics to the artic. Before crossing the national park boundary, the agricultural farms on the footslopes lead to verdant montane forests, hosting rare elephant, leopard, buffalo, the endangered Abbot’s duiker and other small antelopes and primates.

Higher is the moorland Zone that is covered by giant heather studded with giant lobelias.  Surreal alpine desert that supports little life other than a few hardy mosses and lichens that is found above 4000m. On the summit is a winter wonderland of ice and snow and the indescribable magnificent beauty of the top of Africa.

Climbing as a group offers an exceptional experience of this once-in-a-lifetime, inspiring — yet achievable — journey.

The imposing in stature and spacious in concept, the design of the new building echoes the hotel's original incarnation as a working coffee farm dating back to colonial times Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth in Africa at 4466meters and a much underappreciated mountain climb  due to its close proximity to Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in continent. The mountain is often used as warm-up hiking in preparation for the Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. However, the technical requirements are greater on Mount Meru than on the Mt. Kilimanjaro Routes. Mt. Meru is a horseshoe-shaped volcanic crater with a spectacularly narrow ridge and superb all round views. The cliffs of the inner wall below the summit are over 1500m high, and inside the caldera is a subsidiary peak called the Ash Cone (3670m) that last erupted about 100 years ago.
