6 Days Aberdares, Sweetwaters, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara LodgeSafari

Day 1: Nairobi- Aberdares
Depart from your hotel at 0800 hrs and drive northwards passing through the industrial town of Thika, and the intensely cultivated subsistence farms in central Kenya. We break our journey stopping at Nyeri the provincial headquarter of central province for our lunch at the Out Span Hotel Nyeri before transferring to the Treetops hotel. After Lunch we transfer to the famous treetops.
 
Treetops Lodge
Treetops is situated at the Aberdares National Park, Treetops overlooks the water hole and a salt lick that provides the visitors with the closest possible views of wild animals.Treetops is the historical tree hotel where the princess Elizabeth became Queen in 1952  when she learnt of the death of her father, King George V1.
 
Day 2: Aberdares – Sweetwaters.
Breakfast then proceed to Mt. Kenya region and take a full afternoon visit to Sweetwater’s game ranch. Dinner and overnight stay at Sweetwater’s tented camp.
 
Sweetwater’s is the only sanctuary in Kenya for rehabilitation of the abused chimpanzees where they live in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. The site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area.
 
Day 3: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru National park
After breakfast we depart the lodge for Lake Nakuru National park arriving in good time for lunch at a Lodge. Full afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
 
Lake Nakuru's stake in  fame is anchored on its masses of flamingo's and the over 400 of birds species found here. It’s a soda lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The panorama of millions of flamingos from afar the lake appears ringed in pink which is quite a spectacular. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here
 
Day 4 Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara
Drive to via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch at a Lodge. Full afternoon game drive untill dusk.
 
Day 5: Maasai Mara
The whole day is spent at the Mara National Reserve on an exploration tour in search of the big 5, nevertheless there are other fascinating wild animal who call the park home- Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 425 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge or Keekorok lodge
 
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.


Day 6: Maasai Mara –Nairobi

Early morning game viewing drives before breakfast then leave for Nairobi via Narok to arrive by 1400 hrs where the tour ends
