Masai Mara National Game Reserve in November 2006 was named the 8th wonder of tWiderbeastmigrationsafari he world by what the experts explained as the exceptionality of an area and the conservation it provides to so countless species co-existing in harmony. The main highlight of any safari is the world-famous Masai Mara, the northern extension of the Serengeti plains of Tanzania. Rich in wildlife and rolling landscapes, the Masai Mara presents the greatest wildlife theatre on earth.

The most spectacular time to visit is traditionally July to October, the annual migration season. Over a million animals including zebras and wildebeest, head down from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of fresh pastures. There is no better way of adding to the thrill of a safari than taking to the air in an exciting balloon safari. The hot-air balloon sets off at dawn and slowly rises above the plains offering a bird’s-eye view of the game.

The endless plains of sun baked open savannahs provide the staging ground for the annual Wildebeest Great Migration making the Mara a true natural wonder of the world with the densest population of predators, herbivores and birdlife. Activities on offer are safari by balloon, bush barbecues, game viewing drives, Maasai culture dancing and many more. The reserve has an area of 1 510km² and is located 275km from Nairobi within the Great Rift Valley.
